The Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH, member of the Helmholtz Society, is one of the leading research centers of Europe. The Institute for Microstructure Technology (IMT) invites applications for the position of a Scientist (f/m)
At the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT), microstructured and nanostructured components are developed for optical and fluidic applications. A basic technology for the flexible manufacture of smallest structures is electron beam lithography. For this purpose, a machine of the type VB6-UHR-EWF will be installed. For this high-performance machine, the limits of electron beam lithography and structure replication processes, such as RIE and PVD, shall be identified. Based on these findings, new scientific applications shall be developed in cooperation with other groups and technical approaches shall be evaluated on the basis of demonstrators. For the execution of the work, instruments are available in a clean-room section of 350 m2. This job is also suited for persons who wish to work part-time. The contract is for a period of 3 years.
Applicants should have a university degree in physics or engineering, completed by a doctorate. Profound knowledge and experience in the field of lithography and the pertinent process technology for the fabrication of micro- and nanostructures are expected. The subject of your Ph. D. thesis should ideally be related to the tasks mentioned above.
