Amaxa biosystems is an internationally operating biotechnology company with the headquarters located in Cologne, Germany and US operations established in Gaithersburg, MD. Amaxa develops and markets non-viral gene transfer systems for basic as well as medical research. Its highly recognized Nucleofector technology is the first technology worldwide that allows efficient transfer of nucleic acids directly into the cell nucleus of primary cells and cell lines for cell engineering as well as target-molecule validation purposes. The recent launch of the 96-well Nucleofector System has given Amaxa an even stronger presence on the market. The company has been running a profit for some years and currently has about 150 employees.

Looking for a scientist (m/f) to fill a position in Research & Development.

At amaxa you will be working on the development of a variety of new methods and products for non-viral gene transfer into cell lines and primary cells. In this context you will be responsible for the execution of project tasks and for leading the appropriate teams. Your duties will also include the instruction and supervision of technicians.

The successful candidate will be a first-rate scientist and will have an in-depth knowledge of cell biology and molecular biology Excellent knowledge in the field of RNA interference and an above-average understanding of physical/technical associations will round off the candidate's profile. Candidates should have already published in leading journals and be keen to take an active part in product development from the first idea to world-wide launch. Ideally the candidate should already have acquired professional experience in an industrial environment and in multilateral project work. Business fluency in English and excellent communication skills are a must.
