Before the beginning of the study, foreign applicants (except holders of the “Abitur”) have to pass the DSH examination. DSH stands for "German language examination for university entrance". Dates for and samples of the entrance exam are available at the Studienkolleg websites. Some secondary school graduation certificates from foreign schools are not considered sufficient for admission to German universities. In this case, attendance of a course at Studienkolleg is required. To be admitted into this course, successful completion of the entrance examination is necessary. The preparatory course is concluded with the assessment test; after successful completion, you are allowed to study at a German university.
