I took my Fiancee to a lake that we often walk around. It was 6:30 and the sun was just starting to go down. We got out of the car and I locked and shut the door, unfortunitly my keys and the ring were in the car. When I got the ring out of the car we started to walk around the lake. When we go to a spot overlooking the lake with the sun behind us and weeping willows around us I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me.
We were walking down main street in my home town one evening. All the jewelry stores are on the street, and the rings stayed in the windows at night. We were window shopping for rings and we couldn't really decide - none were quite right. As we walked away talking about them I slipped the ring out of my pocket and asked her if this one was OK since she hadn't really liked the others. She did a double take and couldn't quite figure out where the ring came from, and then she said yes. I asked her to marry me. She said yes.
Worked fine. :)
