Normally, Foreign Students in Germany have permission or erlaubnis to work for 90 days per year. I wish of having a Student job to help support my studies but not certain how to begin and not knowing what are the legalities involved.. I am still taking a Sprachkurs but planning to take further studies in the University in the near future.

My questions are:

1. What are the Job opportunities for foreign students in Germany:
a. where Englísh skills are mainly required?...except call centers.
b. where English skills are also important with a Grundkenntnisse of the German language? I believe most companies require fluent German Skills which I still have not acquired.

2. What is the maximum amount that a student is permitted to make or earn on a monthly basis? What are the consequences if earnings exceed the maximum allowable amount monthly? Does it involve paying taxes?
The maximum number of days a student may work, the rules have been slightly modified. It is now possible to work up to 180 half days per year. Therefore if you have a part-time job you may in fact work more than in the past. For the rest it depends on the company you apply.Check here
